Thats a tough one, but here in Galway(dunno about other counties) hackneys are about 40% cheaper than a taxi. Going from city centre to suburbs, or suburbs to outer suburbs.
If you know what I mean.

1euro for every mile it seems to be in galway, well for me anyway
