    Is it still considered legal tender? Cos well, I want to go down to xtravision and rent a film but me fiver is ripped in half - I left my bankcard in my sisters cos I can't get any money out. Can't find cellotape either. :mad:

    if you half both halves, even if they are apart, then yeah it can still be redeemed for goods and services

    yup...typo. where i work i deal with the banks a lot, and they have no problem taking in notes which are torn. the shop will usually tape it up anyway and lodge it with their takings

    take it to any branch, as long as both numbers are still visible, they will replace it
