hi, probably a stupid question but my band are just starting to get things together now and wanted to tape ourselves so we can hear what we are like and just wondered if rehearsal studios have something we can record ourselves on, not like a proper recording studio or anything just something we can record on and hear ourselves played back. Or do we just find ourselves a recording tape deck somewhere??? ;)

Get yourselves a tape deck. Rehearsal studios have no facilities for recording. Better still get a mini disc or an iRiver or something.

There are things called the PSO2 or the PSO4 that are around €100 - €300 and they will redord a digital stream for you. They are a great investment as they have loads of memory and you can record all your tracks seperatly, at close to a studio level of sound! Well worth the money

my band currently use a griffin i talk to record our stuff. Picked it up in hong kong so not sure how much they are here but it does the trick for us. It's also handy cos then you have the songs saved straight onto your i pod and you can put them on your computer really easily from there. Thats how we do it anyway :D
