Just upgraded to their digital service (i know how bad chorus are, but for 4 euros it beats their analogue service). Since their muppet installs have left, I like to re-connect the components correctly :D

Been reading up on how at this site

I assume that the output from the decoder is a RBG signal and as such to get the most out of my chorus digital service and my DVD, I'd need a switcher to my TV as it have only one RGB enabled SCART.

When that linek refers to fully wired scart to scart, is that a speacial type of cable, are there differences.

Anyhow if anybody can point me in the right directly I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

    Mike

You may be able to connect the DVD and chorus box to the one scart on the TV to get RGB quality from both. Sky boxes have scart loop through so you can connect scart 1 on the digibox to the tv and connect scart 2 to the DVD. Try that and when you turn on the DVD player you should see it appear on AV1 on the TV. If it doesn't work you will need the splitter.

A fully wired scart refers to having all 21 pins wired. Some scart leads only use a smaller number of pins. You can check this by looking at the scart and counting the number of pins at each end. If there are 21 then it's a fully wired scart.

Alternatively your DVD player might do RGB passthrough as well. Mine does. So you could connect the chorus box to the DVD and DVD to the TV. Also, I don't know the chorus boxes, but on the ntl: boxes you have to select RGB from the menu. Default is composite.

    Thanks Guys,

I'll check those options. The decoder guide mentions nothing about RGB, and the DVD is an ARCAM DVD88 if anybody can answer the pass thr' question. Hopefully its manual will enlighten me. The decoder is a sagem...

    Cheers

    Mike

PS: Is the full wired scart needed for the RGB signal to be transmitted to the attached device?

That DVD player only appears to have one SCART, so it won't do pass through. My Philips has two, an output SCART and in input SCART, just for pass through purposes. I don't use it though because my Philips WS TV has 4 SCARTs, two of which can do RGB :)
