    Hey all,

I was thinking about getting this for the computer, sounds class, record TV shows from normal TV signal on to the hard drive but I was wondering if any of you had any opinions on this, it seems to have gotten some good reviews, just would like to know if anyone has ever had trouble with it or not.

I presume these TV cards take the standard TV aerial-in cable? sounds stupid i know, but you never know with these cards.

Any thoughts/tips would be great, thanks

are you planning on using it on Linux or Windows ? For Linux I wouldnt go for it, for windows you shouldn't have any problems.
A not on the MCE cards from the haupaggue site:

"Note: the WinTV-PVR-150MCE does not come with a remote control or a software DVD decoder. If you are building Media Center systems, please check with Microsoft for a list of MCE certified remote controls and DVD decoders."

Be warned: There are several version of PAL. AFAIK, you can only use the british version here. That means: No buying from non-UK / IE suppliers, ebay or otherwise.

    I have a PVR350. Very good card.

    I have a PVR350. Very good card.

The card will need to be PAL-I to work in Ireland. I have the PVR 250 (awesome card as well) which is the one the PVR 150 replaced in Hauppauge's line (they have an odd model numbering system) so it should be a good buy.

i've got the pvr 150MCE and it comes options to configure with the various different pal (I D DK etc) combinations and also the others like Secam. Mine automatically selected Ireland and and the suitable PAL.

EDIT: oh and i bought mine from a german supplier

Your thoughts are much appreciated lads, sounds good that card,i'll go for it, i'm getting it off komplett.ie, so i'm sure there would be no problems with that, i'll double check the specs to make sure that it's the right version of PAL that it uses

(sure I suppose if it doesn't work, send it back!)

    Cheers, all :)
