Bloody Rip-off pubs AGAIN

I wanted to bring to your attention yet another example of how Dublin people are being ripped-off by greedy publicans, I know that you must be sick of hearing that story, however this example is not just bad, it is also illegal.

Keilys pub in Donnybrook have decided to make access to the pub for next Saturdays test match against New Zealand an "all-ticket" affair!. For €25 you get into the pub and are given a breakfast and 3 pints of your choice!!!. Not alone is €25 a rip-off for breakfast and 3 pints, but it is illegal to sell drink at that hour of the morning!!!.

Yet another example of absolute greed and a total flouting of the law right under the noses of Donnybrook gardai!!

rip off yes but if they have a early house license they can serve drink from around 7.30ish (asaik). Think the White Horse near tara st dart station has an early license. Its possible they may have been granted a temporary license for the games.

You have other options like watch it at a home\mates house, go to a different pub\hotel etc.

Your right odf course but that wasnt his point. That makes the fry-up about €10 - €12 ? EAT EVERY BITE!!

    How much is a normal pint there ? 4-5euro *3 = 12/15 euro

And either 13/10 euro for a brekky.

Not the worst prices, but yeah bit of a rip off.

Buy a pound of sausages / bacan, beans, white pudding, soda bread, eggs and do your own at home.

That price doesnt seem too bad to me. With the price their pints are normally and the price you would pay for a breakfast in Dublin it adds up to a fairly good deal. They do also have to pay extra for an early licence and pay staff for an early start. You could always watch it at home but its more fun with a crowd. Did pubs charge in for the early start during the Soccer world Cup?

It's worth noting also that I got food-poisioning there 3 weeks ago.
I had fish and chips. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemies.

Erm, its not an early license. iirc its the same thing they pulled on new years 2000 - where its a "gift" not a purchase.

Well it is in Donnybrook, so it's more like Koily's.

E25 is a shocker (and the price of just getting Sky Sports in for the month). The thought of pints at that time of the day makes me feel a little ill. Possibly only because I am currently hungover though.

Yeah if you'd paid 25 quid for it, you'd feel duty bound to swally back the three pints. I'm good for the odd pint of cider or the like in the morning, but three pints that early means I'd probably keep drinking and be f*cked by six in the evening.

Anyway, there are lots of places around showing the match and not charging a cover.
