is it done by quantity or by how much you paid for em?

In my experience as much as you can carry with out getting caught. your actual allowances are 200 cigs/ 50 cigarillos/ 200g tabacco, 2 ltrs spirits and 50g parfum or 200 eau du toilette and either €200 or €400 (can remember which) of other random goods.

    See above.

When you arrive back, you can go through One of Two gates:

    Something to Declare
    Nothing to Declare

(Cant acually remmeber the names.. But thats the gist of them)

So it comes down to this, do you take the red pill or the blue pill?

I thin the blue one is the "Nothing To Declare" one.

You still see all the Irish people going through the other one as its "green".

    Typical :D

You're only sposed to go through the blue one if you're travelling from another EU state.

Tbh, everyone just goes through whatever one they want in Dublin anyway. Well, execpt the red one.

i've never seen anyone declaring anything, or infact, anyone being stopped ever in the airport. Although, im sure they are more warey when flights from eygpy america etc come in.
If your planning on buying clothes etc, just take the tags off and you can say your brough them out. Same with electrics.

Its absolutely brilliant any time of year loads of cheap hotels, good skiing during the inter canoeing from spring til july as the snow melts, hiking hill walking during the summer. night life is good. all the hotels have pools and stuff so no need for the beach. you can buy what ever prescription drugs you want over the counter for next to nothing great if you've got asthma €6 an inhaler. all shopping is tax free so spirits are like €4 a bottle for bottles that are €25 here.

When we were coming back from Lanzarote, my sister had a toy gun she bought over there in her hand luggage, she was only 7 . When she passed her bag through the thingy, of course the gun showed up on the screen, the security guy grabbed the bag, whipped out the gun and realised it was fake. My parents nearly died of embarrassment!
