This one has me freaked!! Using a Zyxel 600 BB modem & when I try access 1 particular site I get the "This Page can not be displayed " message.
Its not the PC , I've tried it on 2
Its Not a fire wall etc , I can get the site using dial up
It's not a setting I've changed, I've tried defaulting the modem

    Anyone any ideas?????
BTW the site is www.tulieservices.com ...nothing dodgy

Zyxel is a peice of junk given sold off by Digiweb in their DSL packages, its a peice of crap through and through... get yourself something proper like a netgear or D-Link

I can only guess as much, as I dare not reconnect my Zyxel -- either the website forwards to another at a different port without you noticing, or the server is in a blocked list

im on eastBB but not using their ZyXel model (netgear)

cannot access it. A DNS problem on their end?

[edit] just tried to ping it and at least got an IP address (217.160.252.232), looks like its the site at fault

By thier end . do you mean esat or the site????

who hosts the site , the DNS range its in might be blacklisted ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,033 ✭✭✭beller b

I know who owns it...like i said it worked up to 2 days ago..why would it be blacklisted??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 794 ✭✭✭formatman

I mean the servers that host the site might have other sites with unsuitable content and the Range of DNS has been blocked , just a suggestion

I can access the site anyhow

Are you on BT broadband? this is the only place I have a problem. I can access it on eircom dialup & I can access it on Eircom BB at work!

    no crap dialup ,

who hosts the site ? ,

when you're on the eircom dial-up, what IP address does www.tulieservices.com point to ? if it's different to 217.160.252.232, you know that esat haven't updated their dns thingy again

    can't get it either.

used to have a problem with several sites not working on BT broadband. open24 (tsb website) and a few others never figured out what it was though, as it started working when i got my linksys router.

    try this: http://www.webwarper.net/ww/www.tulieservices.com/?*

webwarper is an inline cgi based web proxy.

it's slow, but the page does seem to be opening (at least a bit) when you run t through the proxy.

email bill murphy directly and get him on to it. the only way to get things done at BT these days.

I have had a lot of trouble lately with BT broadband not connecting to certain sites. One in particular is www.royalmail.com and www.parcelforce.com which is also owned by Royal Mail. This is the only one that comes to mind right now but there have been quite a few. I thought it might be a DNS issue with BT's servers, been meaning to give them a call about it.

Also using the Zyxel 623R modem that they supplied. I have a Belkin wireless router/BB modem but can't get that to work directly with BT broadband so I route one through the other.

yeah, and failing that, change to Firefox

It may be something funny involving packet sizes or something. Do you happen to know what oeprating system it's running? There was a problem with certain versions of Solaris where they'd claim to accept a certain form of packet, but actually silently drop it.

Alternatively it may be on the same IP as something very dodgy; in the UK at least BT blocks known child porn sites automatically.

If it was blocked for a reason why would it be accessable via dial up??....
Anyway sent email to Bill Murray ,see what he comes back with..

Both EsatBT BB nameservers (194.125.2.240 and .241) are showing correct data for www.tulieservices.com

Open a command prompt and trace to www.tulieservices.com to see where the trace dies. ICMP echo is working all the way to the server from here.

eg. In Windows click Run in the start menu, enter 'command', and type:
    tracert www.tulieservices.com
