    VC: 0.25/0.5 PL Yamaha
    D: Imposter1 wins $113.17 with Flush KJ852
    D: Imposter1 wins $114.37 with Flush KJ852

    That's $227.54 at 0.25/0.5!

Didn't feel like Holdem but felt like a bit of gambling so sat down at a 0.25/0.5 PL Omaha 6-handed table on VC.

I've worked me $40 up to about $160 due to a load of idiots. Then this happened!

    I'm dealt JJ78.

Flop comes 456 rainbow! Happy days!
So I bet out the pot thinking callers shouldn't be hard to find. Next guy raises pot next calls (about 12$) so raise pot again.

The guy next to me is now all-in for about $35. I put the other guy all-in on the turn.

So i'm thinking one of them probably has a 78 as well.
Guy next to me has 23 for the low end straight, other guy has 78.

    Turn a heart.
River a heart making 3 hearts.

So i'm thinking ****, quick look to see that neither of them has a pair of hearts. Phew!!
....and then the pot comes to me and I notice my J8h! Sweet!

Left the table 20 mins later with just short of $320 for a tidy profit.

On another note, does anyone else get a "Can't display page" thingee from VC and/or PPP when trying to view hand histories? I can't see them at all.

not if you keep calling all ins with K high flushes it wont.

I made the 'mistake' of doing that in the fitz's WSOP satellite. Had the king high flush and the ace was out. Got beaten by a straight flush :(

he put it all in with the nuts on the turn?

    you had the king high

    KJ852 - king high flush

doesnt go on the high card you hold its the overall flush high card

(in my previous post I had the ace high flush but was holding the king)

It goes on the highest heart I had which was the J. If someone had Qx of hearts they would have beaten me but they'd of had a 'k high' flush. But in this case I was just lucky as the money was put in when I had the nut straight and the rainbow fop meant a flush was unlikely.

yes he had the nuts, that does not mean someone else also shared the nuts with the Ax of hearts to go with it as unlikely as it may seem, never rule out the possibility.

There could also be someone with the set looking to fill up who could have Ax of hearts.

This is Omaha we are talking about, you have to think about all the different possibilities and not just presume there is not better out there.

So? Should he NOT get it all in with the nuts on the turn and allow someone with a set or a bigger flush draw to see a cheap river?

Also remember this was 6-handed (even though the hands you suggest could still be out there).

Even with all that it would be madness not to push the nuts with a J high flush redraw on the turn. Your opponent is unlikely to have a redraw to a higher straight or nuts + set (the things you are really worried about) as he would have reraised you on the flop. You're either freerolling or have blockers to his higher redraw. Get the money in!

The only thing I can see wrong was buying in originally for $40. Don't ever buy in short, especially at Omaha. You really want to be able to make sizeable bets on flop and turn on every hand you decide to play. All too easily as a shortstack you can give a number people good reason to call with lousy draws on the flop or turn. Enough of them calling and you can easily be a dog to win a hand when you could have won the same size of pot but taken your good hand in against one player for more money. Never never never shortstack Omaha.

oh I agree, you have to push with the nuts, all I am saying is don't rule out the A high possiblity

This is all of course assuming you're playing good omaha rather than Dapper omaha. :)

You actually have a huge advantage in a loose game by buying in very short and trying to get it all in with several callers, so long as you have any chance of winning the hand. You won't win the pots so often, but you may have a chance to quintuple up.

I heard Tony Cooney (of all people!) suggesting this for Internet play.
