I found a bass in Ireland thats cheaper to buy here than on Thomann!

    Ibanez BTB1025E
    http://www.thomann.de/thoiw6_artikel-177090.html

and here in Musicmaker and Musician Inc it sells for €1299. (but i know i can bargain them down, specially when they both stock it!)

Now to the real point of the thread: Anyone own a high end Ibanez bass like this one? And if so can ya give me the pros and cons of it.

That bass is sweet. Johnny from mike got spiked and Jason from Undeclared use the same one i think. But neither are members here. Post a thread about it on mikegotspiked.proboards18.com johnny'll help you out. I've heard the bass live through a marshall 4x10 combo and it sounded really really nice.

I have a Soundgear 3006 Prestige (was quoted €1900 for it in Musician, paid €1000 for it from the states). Absolutely amazing instrument but the Bartolini pickups are a bit of a disappointment IMO. Build quality, materials and fretwork are top class, as good as anything else you'll play. The EQ is fantastic, really you can get any kind of tone you want.

Cons... there are none that I know of, apart from the pickups but that's just me, I prefer a more vintage orientated tone and the Barts just couldn't do that for me.

well when i played it yesterday it was through a 4x10 and i liked the versatility of the pups and EQ but i wonder how it will sound through my 1x15?
and Doc where did you order your bass from?

I got it from Music 123... great deal but will never deal with them again.

There's a thread here from late 2003 which tells the whole sordid story, you should find it easily enough.

    Bunch of ****ehawks.

Well if i do order it from USA it wont be shipped directly form the company to me. Ill send it to a mate in either Jersey or Louisianna, and then theyll ship it on as a gift. (even though odds are customs will take it)

Yeah do a search. They ****ed up the shipping address a few times i think.
