I have installed my US Robotics Wireless Network Card. (usr805416) It is
connected to the network through a buffalo router (WBR2-G54S). All is
well apart from it is only connecting at a speed of 11mbps. I have
checked a few things and it seems to be connecting at 11b and not 11g(I
could be wrong on this). I say this because if I turn the router to 11g connections only, the US Robotics card will not connect. Can you help or do you need more details.

My laptop is working fine on the network (125mbps with 11g I presume). I have updated all the drivers and am getting a good signal. Could it be an incompatibility between the different makers?

Thanks, any help would be much appreciated.

    11g is only 54Mbps.
The buffalo router offers a "Hi-Speed" function which uses alogorithmic trickery to increase throughput. On the router, set the access speed to 802.11g, don't select Hi-Speed or whatever it calls itself. Have the router and card in the same room, just to ensure a good signal. Make sure the card is also set to 802.11g by default.

Incompatibilites shouldn't really reduce your speed, 802.11g is still a standard. I do notice on my own pair at home (router downstairs front of house, machine upstairs back of house) that the connection speed can drop to 11Mbps is the signal becomes weak.
