Unlikely you will get anywhere near the above animals with scuba they have good hearing and dislike intensely the noise of scuba.
your best bet is snorkelling. The dolphin in the Aran Islands won't come anywhere near you if you are on scuba.

I've dived with the dolphin in Fanore (dusty) last year. She definitely wasn't afraid of scuba.

http://www.irishdolphins.com/dusty.asp for more info but I think she's moved on from Fanore...

Does this look like a dolphin intensely disliking scuba? :)

You can see the fear in the dolphin's eye... poor thing.

Fantastic photo :-) Did you know it was there when you went in or did it just appear?

We were going to dive around the corner initially but it was too rough so went in off a slipway. We knew there was a dolphin nearby alright but didn't know where she was hanging around exactly. We were about 20 mins into one of the most boring dives ever when she showed up.

Ok maybe the odd mad dolphin won't mind scuba but they are the exception rather than the rule.
You do realise that all those loner cetacean's are in fact outcasts?
Most of the top aquatic Photog's are freediving when they shoot those fantastic pics of animals that you see.
Why? because there is no noise.
It doesn't matter to me I have seen enough seals and dolphins to last me a lifetime, but if the OP is serious about seeing these animals than he/she should snorkel to have a better chance.

i was thinking about going down the west with the girlfriend.she loves dolphins and always wanted to swim with them.anyway,i am hoping to bring her over and get to see/swim with dolphins.

i hear that dolphins are attracted by sound and was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions on what i should use and where i should go?

I swam with dolphins (wild ones) in the red sea. Yes they are attracted by sounds. Just make sound. Sing, talk whatever.
