I've sold some clothing on eBay, items that I know I'd get a good price for.

The rest I send home to my sisters to loot and pillage as they want. After that, i think my Mom hands them in to a local charity shop, or my dad uses them for rags in the garage.

My mum used to manage a charity shop, she found out a worker used to cream off the best stuff that came into the shop (unused/unwanted presents, designer clothes with the labels still on, jewellery that people had given away probably after a nasty break-up) and flog them. However that was just person in one particular shop, I know she was always grateful for any clothes handed in that she could resell.
In short if you want to make a few quid: sell them, eBay e.t.c.
If you think that someone else might get some wear out of them: charity shop
    :)

Charity shops or those door to door collections some charities organise. I don't see the point in throwing out clothes that are in good condition just because I no longer wear them. If other people can get use out of them then I'd rather give them to them.

ya could try having some fun with them! cute skirts are great to customize and you could use the material from them to add to other clothes... it dont always go right but its fun in the process and you might find you come up with something that you really like! youll never be wearing the same outfit as someone else that way! :D charity shops are always a great second option if friends/family dont want the hand me downs, i shop in them a lot and its great to pick up cool bargains because of other peoples decision to bring their things there. its also great to know your helping a charity in the meantime! :)

If the clothes are in decent condition, which they usually aren't, they'll go to charity. Most of the time they end up in the bin.
