    Looking for a good wireless laptop card with a proven track record for linux. Any recommendations?

    Lucent ORiNOCO, has a proven track record with EVERYTHING. I've used one in OS/2, ffs..

    You'll probably be able to pick one up on ebay without too much difficulty

    In practice tho, if you're on a 386, most will run happily enough with that weird windows hosted thing. There's also a few have decent native drivers.
