Vietnames Visas: Turnaround Time?

    Hey

Some mates and I are headed off to South East Asia on the first of August. They're posting their passports off tomorrow to the Vietnamese embassy in London to get their visas for Vietnam.

Thing is: I've lost my motherf***in passport!

arraargh. Incredibly frustrating. So, I have a day off work on Friday and I'm going to do the all-day emergency queue thing. Thing is, I'm worried I won't have my passport with visa back in time for travel to Thailand on the 1st August.

Does anyone know how long it takes the Vietnam visa to send back the passports to Ireland from date of postage? Please help - I'm crappin' it here!

    They are pretty efficient

Five working days are required to process normal visa applications or two working days for express service (additional fee required) after the Embassy receives the applications. Please do not make telephone inquiries prior to these time limits

It should take roughly 2 weeks to send and receive it back

You could always just get your visa from the Vietnamese embassy in Bangkok. It would probably cost less there than posting it to London - I think I paid about US$40 for mine there and got my passport back the next day.

My brother did it at the last minute a couple of months back took about a week/10days. He used a courier to be sure, cost him a fortune. DHL fubared it by sending the passports back via Germany for some odd reason.

Hey Im heading out to Thailand on the 7th of July and Im planning on getting my visa in Bangkok to fly on to Hanoi in the next day or so. Is is better to get it from the Embassy rather than those Thai travel agents? Where exactly is the Vietnamese embassy located in Bangkok?

    Thanks!
