Can anyone help me with a very annoying BB connection problem?
Now the problem doesn't lie in the connection itself, which is why I'm posting here. I know this because my modem is showing activity, the people at IOL have told me there are no problems on the line, as well as other things.
Basically, every know and again I seem to lose my connection, that is to say my browser won't connect to webpages, it just times out. It happens in both Firefox and IE. The wierd thing is, sometimes I can only view certain sites, such as here or gmail, and my p2p and torrent software doesn't seem to be affected at all. Also, if I connect the ethernet cable to my xbox I don't have any problems playing online.
I was told it could be my firewall disrupting connections, but even when I disable it (which I don't like doing), I still encounter the problem, perhaps not as much. I use AVG virus scan, MS Anti-Spyware, Ad Aware and Spybot all on a regular basis, and they can't seem to find any problems such as Virus'.
My firewall is McAfee, by the way.

Anyone know what the problem may be and how to fix it? It's very annoying having to reset my modem sometimes every 5 minutes.

Right click on the connection in "Network Connections", and set the DNS to be:

    Primary DNS:
    159.134.237.6
    Secondary DNS:
    159.134.248.17

These are actually eircom dns', but they work with IOL.
