Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wordpress 1.5.1.2 Upgrade - It's a breeze!

I just did the Wordpress upgrade from 1.5 to 1.5.1.2 and it's pretty painless. Simply a copy/replace exercise and a quick upgrade script and everything is hunky dory. Main reason to do so is a possible security issue and lots of bug fixes, but I just wanted to reassure people who use WP that the upgrade process itself is a breeze.

Be warned though - if you have made any changes to your core WP php files for any plugins or themes, you will have to reapply these to the new core WP files after the upgrade as I think up to 85 files are replaced as part of the process. I had a brief moment of panic until I realised what I'd done, so I just reinstalled the offending plugin and reapplied the changes to the core files. Site now happy on WP 1.5.1.2 :)

If you have shell access midnight commander can make this so much easier :)

The one thing I made a mess of a while back was my .htaccess. I finally fixed it the other day, but I think it had been broken for a couple of months :(
