Should a 5V DC power Adapter work in Ireland?

I've just bought a wireless router in the united states which I want to use in Ireland.
    It includes a
    5V DC Power adapter

Is this compatable with the irish electricity standards?

If I get a US - Ireland/UK plug adapter and simply plug it in, should it work okay here?
or do I need a converter?

Any advice would be appreciated as I don't want to risk pluging it in without checking first, in case it damages the router.

    Thanks
    SD

Should be a sticky for this somewhere,

look at the bottom of the adaptor. If it has a Voltage between 220V and 250V listed on the bottom it will work and you can buy an adapter - shaving adaptor plug fits but you may need a cable tie to hold it on. If it does list the voltage then then it won't.

You can get transformers (converter) to step down form our 230V to the US. 110V but it may be cheaper to buy another 5V adapter here on the wanted thread that someone no longer needs. Do not get one of the multivoltage adapters theses are probably not regulated well enough.

When buying IT gear in the states feel the weight of the Wall Wart plug. If it's heavy then it won't work here. If it is light then it might, looking at the bottom will tell you.
