If you look old you will be able to play downtown without too much hassle.

I know that some casino's in the states are actually over 18s but I don't think that applies to any in LV.

Vegas answers - they are very strict on age rules as it can cause license problems - but whatever about age rules its the last rule that should worry you most - you might end up like the paddy power poker guy in the advert on top of this page!!!

DRINKING AGE? The minimum legal age to drink alcohol in Nevada is 21 years old.

GAMBLING AGE? The minimum legal age to gamble in the State of Nevada is 21 years of age. This law is strictly enforced. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to gamble.

CLIMATE? Las Vegas average temperature is 80 degrees with an average of 320 days of sunshine annually and only 4.19 inches of rain!

ARE CHILDREN PROHIBITED IN A CASINO?
It is not legal for a person under the age of 21 to be loitering within the casino gaming area, or to be standing next to a slot machine, video poker machine, gaming table, etc. However, it is perfectly fine for a child to walk thru a casino, if their route is the only route available to reach their hotel room, the pool, etc. Adults can not play slot machines, etc., with their under age children present. If you are under 21, you can walk thru the gaming area, but you can not stop and talk / loiter with parents, guests, etc. This law is strictly enforced. When a child walks thru the gaming area, they should "not walk" in between the slot machines, they should walk on a major pathway to and from their hotel room, pool, etc. A parent can not park an infant in a stroller next to a slot machine or within the gaming area and gamble. They can walk with the infant in the stroller thru the gaming area, or around the gaming area, but they can not stop and gamble. The only casino hotel in Nevada that does not allow strollers is the new Wynn Las Vegas.

CURFEW: Las Vegas has a curfew ordinance in place, which prohibits anyone under the age of 18 on the Las Vegas Strip (Las Vegas Blvd.) after 9 p.m. unless they are accompanied by a parent. The curfew is 10 p.m. off the Las Vegas Strip. This is a Clark County ordinance which includes the City of Las Vegas, Henderson and Summerlin.

LIQUOR SALES: Las Vegas liquor sales are 24 hours a day for those over 21 years of age. Bars, Casinos, Hotels, Grocery Stores, etc., can sell liquor 24 hours a day.

DRUNK DRIVING: Drunk driving laws are strict. If you drink alcohol, do not drive a car or ride a motorcycle. There are plenty of taxi cabs around, so avoid the temptation, do not drive.

PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC: Driving on the Las Vegas Strip and around town will be very difficult, Plan on it. This is due to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. You must be extremely alert at all times. Las Vegas pedestrians are not predictable! Be forewarned! If you are the pedestrian, do not jay walk ever! And never walk against a traffic signal. Why? Because the oncoming cars will not see you! The drivers are excited, and if you are trying to jet across the Las Vegas Strip, you may cause a serious accident. "Do not plan on a vehicle stopping for you", until they have completely stopped. Again, Do Not Jay Walk! Las Vegas is definitely the most exciting city in the world. Enjoy the shows, play at the casinos, and dance at the clubs, but be forewarned, the glimmering lights and exciting sounds and smells can easily distract the most attentive driver or pedestrian. We want you to enjoy our city and we want you to return again and again!

2004 TOURIST TOTAL: Las Vegas had 37.4 million people visit in 2004.
PARKING: All of the major hotels have FREE PARKING and large parking lots.

HOW MANY PEOPLE LIVE IN LAS VEGAS?: Las Vegas has 1.7 million residents.

IS PROSTITUTION LEGAL?: No, prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas
