I see the BBC TV coverage for Live 8 does not begin until 5.25pm. Admittedly it runs through until 10.45pm but it's a bit late in the day considering the show starts at lunchtime. The Live Aid show in '85 had full live TV coverage and I thought they might do something like that. I assume one of the Irish channels (prob RTÉ2) will also have live coverage of this but I can't find anything yet.
    MUSIC: Live 8
    Channel: BBC 1
    Date: Saturday 2nd July 2005
    Time: 17:25 to 22:45
Duration: 5 hours and 20 minutes.

Maybe the rest is on BBC2 or Three or something...
In the UK, the BBC is the host broadcaster for LIVE 8 London with coverage across BBC ONE, TWO and THREE, with radio broadcasts on Radio's 1 and 2, the BBC World Service and across the BBC's regional stations.

EDIT: I've just found out that BBC TWO will be showing it also, then it moves to BBC ONE. Delayed coverage starts at 7pm on BBC THREE.

RTÉ have the Irish broadcasting rights. Their coverage pans out like this:

    RTÉ2 2.00 — 5.00
    RTÉ1 5.00 — 6.00
    RTÉ2 7.20 — 12.05

RTÉ are not scheduled to have live TV coverage on either channel between 6.00 and 7.20. RTÉ1 is showing an hour of it because RTÉ2 is showing qualifiers from the hurling and football All-Ireland series from 5.00 to 7.20.

The BBC Have the rights to everything, Coverage for Live 8 starts on
    BBC 2 @ 13.00 - 16.15.
    BBC 1 from 16.15 - 21.30.
    BBC 3 Coverage starts at 19.00 - 03.00.

    Then Live 8 US is on BBC 1 from 21.50 - 03.35

Check www.radiotimes.co.uk for BBC Listings, it'll be the most up to date, at least for BBC Channels.

I hope they show all the Live 8s on TV, not just the UK and US ones.
