Play.com - Slow delivery recently?

Hi, this may be in the wrong forum, please move if desired. Soz in advance...

Anyone having problems ordering from Play.com recently?
I ordered a DVD box set recently, and on the site it said "Posted on 06/06/2005" I've still not received it, and its over the week I normally allow for it to arrive.

Also, the previous order for a DVD took from 28th May until 13th June to arrive.

Anyone else experiencing slowness??

Sounds longer than usual alright. I presume you've checked your account to make sure the DVD's are in stock and the payment went through smoothly?

I Ordered 4 dvd's from play.com around the same date, 6th or 7th of June and one of them arrived last Tuesday but im still waiting on the other three and my email claims they were all sent on the same day.

when i ordered my copy of Guild Wars a few weeks back it took ages to get to me. I blame AN Post.

yeah im waitin over a week for a dvd i ordered, nearly 2... and it says posted, and it was in stock

I ordered 4 DVDs last week. So far, 3 have arrived - one a day - during this week. I don't know if it's something on their end or if it's An Post.

I ordered books on the 02/06 and I got the note in the post on Friday that I can collect them from the nearest depo. Boo. Those bloody things don't open on Saturdays....Mon to Fri only :mad: So normal working people can't pick them up. Load of arse.

i've abused that system once.

i ordered a simpsons box set and after 15 days it didn't arrive so i rang them they said they'll send out another one.

two days later i get a disney box set with the movies toystory 1&2, a bugs life and monster inc.

i said nothing, 2 days later my simpsons come (resent ones). i was happy

hey it's exactly like when you do the shopping, they give out free samples you ain't going to say no.

but with play you ain't going to go down the aisle and come back up the aisle for some more.

I had the same problem as Cremo, it was declared lost after 2 weeks and they offered me refund or replacement. It arrived in the post the next day, I told them, and they did nothing but apoligise about the slow delivery.
Another thing I ordered the day after the above item came withing 4 days... so I don't know, tis odd ...

I work in An Post and have noticed in recent weeks, the past month or so, anything coming through from the UK seems to be heavily delayed. We're told the problem is with Royal Mail but I don't know. I've got stuff posted to me from New Zealand which arrived in 5 days when stuff from the UK took 2 weeks...

I order a lot from Play and delivery times have definitely slowed out as far as two weeks. However, I reckon this is a Royal Mail problem. I find stuff comes quicker from the US thes days than the UK. As long as it gets there, what harm.

Ordered xbox live strater kit last week. Arrived on friday.

Like Cremo when I ordered Family Guy season 1 and season 3 came together.
Waited a day or two no sign of season2 so I rang them up and told them the story. Given a refund on season2 straight away.They couldn't send another seeing as they were out of stock.
Season2 fell through the letter box the next day.

It has been very slow lately. I waited 2 weeks on a CD from the UK - got it eventually, but i also bought something on ebay from Brazil and that arrived in no time at all!

Btw, the Play.com summer sale started today!

I usually go with the german cdwow -better selection and often cheaper; got the 3disc DANCES WITH WOLVES for €7, €13 on cdwow.ie

I ordered a load of stuff off them from their sale last Tuesday and it all arrived this morning. That's pretty speeding delivery from Play.
