I got a new laptop with a trial of Mc Afee on it. I want to get rid of trial version and use my own Security Center edition which was on my old laptop (since sold reformatted)

I uninstall all dell mcafee software.

I reinstall it. When it installs it asks me to register. Its says that the computer has been registered previously and I can summit my previous info for this registration. I assume this is the dell registered version. If i press sumbit it takes me to the update page and I update. When the udates are in stalled everything but the antivirus has been updated. When I try and update again it wont let me. the update page seems to be a page with no functions. The update button doesnt seem to work. As a result i cant updae.

If I dont submit its says I wont be able to recieve updates.

I've tried installing on a new user. Doesnt work.

I've tried deleting all my cookies so the computer isnt know to mcafee (maybe i havent done this properly. I just delete cookies from the internet content on the internet options window). I've tried deleting the temp internet files but nothing.

    Running XP Home
    Any ideas?

It will have something to do with your account. Maybe youll have to email McAfee and see what they can do as the machine has already been regsitered
