I was just wondering if anyone is running hylafax successfully?
I bought an external US Robotics 56k to use with my Suse 9.1 x86_64 system but I cant manage to get it communicating properly with the modem.
Can anyone suggest an easily obtainable modem that might give me more success?

I have it working, although I haven't actively used it in ages. Pretty much any external modem should work; I use a cheapo MRI jobbie.

    What's the problem?

Ah I think its an issue with Suse tbh, i've searched on it and others seem to have the same problem.
Basically when i try to communicate with the modem using cu it keeps saying that the line is in use.

Ok, I've made a good bit of progress now, however I'm having troube configuring faxgetty to receive faxes.
The docs give examples for getting init to start faxgetty on boot, I've tried adding a startup script that does /usr/local/sbin/faxgetty ttyS0 for me but it won't run.

I reckon that the docs for Hylafax are the worst technical document that I've come across in my life.
