Help Targa Laptop !!!!(part two)

I bought the LIDL laptop on Monday and I have just installed Norton Internet Security 2004 on it. It has come to a standstill as a result. Very little system resources are being used so the CPU is not flooded and it can't be a virus. Has anyone else bought one? (apart from the guy on the other Targa thread)

NIS 2004 causes all sorts of problems with PC's...they fixed a lot of these issues in NIS 2005.

I can actually get my hands on the 2005 version (pretend you didn't read that, mods) but I don't really want to risk it 'cause if it freezes again I'll go crazy.
I think I'll just get ZoneAlarm and some anti-spyware package.
