Hey this week i'm celebrating the best female MC's in hip-hop on the radio in my black on Red music special. Expect to hear

    Mama Mystique
    Bahamadia
    Rah Digga
    Missy Elliot
    Lauryn Hill
    What What
    Pariss
    T-Love
    Roxanne Shante
    Salt N Pepa
    Heather B
    Remy Martin
    MC Lyte
    Sweet Tee
    Motha Superior
    Queen Latifah
    Foxy Brown
    Antionette
    Floetry
    Jane Blaze
    Shortie No Mass

Recorded the mix yesterday but the damn CD was faulty so i'm goin up to do it again now! The mix is pretty much underground headbangers mixed with some of the pioneering late 80's tracks and one or two classics from the modern jiggy era!

    No Jean Grae?
She's new enough I suppose, but she's good.

Luryn Hill would be the best on that list. Plus I'd give her one, and so would the rest of ye.

Jean Grae used to record under the name What What and she will be represented under that guise. Lil Kim is a good rapper but a lot of her best material has appeared as single verses with the likes of Junior Mafia et al. I also forgot many more on that list who i included like Paula Perry, Eve and a few more. The special is just over an hour long and will include a pretty comprehensive look at some of my own favourite female MCs.

You are misinformed my friend, the name was 'Why Why'.

    No need to thank me.

It was What? What? she recorded extensively with the likes of Herbaliser-she is indeed on Herbalisers new LP as Jean Grae again-believe me, i've been folowing her career since Herbaliser dropped a few tracks with her many years ago-one being the classic cut "The Blend", which is gonna be on the show tomorrow in the form of its Peanut Butter Wolf remix. She also recorded with All Natural i think in tracks which were released on Manchester's Fat City label.
