There is a new aldi open today in palmerstown. Anyone been in to see if there are special bargains? I think they do have specials when they open a new shop.
Might drop in later after work.

On another note i got one of them kinetic watches from aldi.. it did not work. kept stopping and could not change the month. Pity as it was nice. got money back anyway and went to Pizza hut.

OK i went there at lunch time. Only saw the same stuff as in other places. I picked up a charger and some re-chargeable batteries. Good value. not sure how good they are though.

the shop itself seems to be bigger than any of the others i was in and it was stocked full of stuff. In my oppinion its good, it will bring a lease of life to Palmerstown villiage. Might hurt supervalu a bit but healthy competition and all that. At the end of the day i think more people will go to supervalu for quality stuff (and they have some very good bargains too!) and for certain cheap stuff they will go to aldi. I dont know if anyone actually does a full shop in Aldi.
Right im going off topic on my own damn thread and seem to be talking to myself. :D

How will all the Aldi's survive ?

Start at the Palmertown one and drive to Fonthill Industrial Estate, now drive to Newlands Cross and then to the Belgard Road - That's 4 of them !

Woo! I can walk to Aldi! Super Valu wont suffer. Its got a excellent rep and its
costumer base is largely elderly and people with familys. Aldi will be nothing more
than a convience store for certain items. S.V shouldnt suffer too much.

Does Aldi sell wine? If so then maybe S.V will suffer there.

...poor super valu will miss the drunken alcos trying to fit a bottle of wine down
their trousers if Aldi sell wine.

That is because you were too late, I'm sure all the good deals were gone 5 minutes after opening. That is usual fro Aldi/Lidl.

They source cheap goods from suppliers Tescos and Dunnes dont use thereforethey are a vital part of any economy.

They create more jobs in smaller sized producers than any of the others.
