Dashboard widget for SMS

I'm looking to build a dashboard widget for sending Text Messages via the O2/Vodafone/Meteor sites...

I know that there are the command line versions for all of the sites, so using these as a base would be a good start as most of the ground work is done in terms of what we need to send to the servers...

At the moment I'm looking for some able Mac bodies to help out with coding, testing, design etc. There's no monetary value and it will be free for all... but would be rather cool ;-)

    Any helpers?

My bro and his mate made a java programme that allowed them to send the free SMS's from a desktop without logign into the side, but Vodafone blocked it out on them, so you might find it very tricky.

As for programming, well I can't help there.

This one won't be free as far as i can tell

From what i read is that. You login with your vodafone,o2,meteor details and you can use your web texts (i have them with vodafone, i dont know about the other networks)

So the program is perfectly legal.

    I can't program either :( sorry

    Good luck with the widget

Great idea! Was just thinking about this the other day when I came across a few widgets on the apple site but all for foreign networks. It should be manageable to those with the knowledge but I can't help with the coding here

Yeah that's a slick idea-i can't help with coding, but I'd be happy to do a bit of graphics and testing work if you want.

if you do a search through the threads in the programming forum one of the lads there had set up a site which interfaced with Vodafone/o2 sites on behalf of people stuck behind a firewall. So it can be done

couldn't find the particular post/thread with the site - but this may be useful as well

Great idea, here's a website I found that might be of interest to you. I can't program it myself but you might contact someone there who can, http://www.mackers.com/projects/o2sms/
