Rss On a Website How ?

Hi

I want to add an RSS feed to a website.There are a few websites which offer these but not sure how to work with them.
What I want is that the RSS feeds form part of my website and when a user clicks on them they are redirected to the origin site of the RSS

Is this possible ?

In theory, RSS feeds are just XML data, and so can be processed using XSLT or SAX or whatever.

In reality, a lot of them are not well-formed, plus there are many different incompatible versions, so you will need an RSS parser. I would recommend the Universal Feed Parser (written in Python).

If you have any problem with XML or want an easy solution you could use a “cut and paste” JavaScript. Get the URL of the feed and use this http://www.ketec.ie/users/rss/build.php to generate the JavaScript.

Does this update it ?

The rss feed updates every day so would the javascript take this into account
the url of the rss feed

If you edit the java script it probably will not work, just to check it I set up this page: http://blog.xviper.com/test1.htm and it works fine.

cheers took the source and pasted it into dreamweaver and uploaded to server
will check tomorrow if the page updates automatically
