Sony vaio S4xp

Hi

I’m currently looking at the Sony vaio S4xp and was wondering if anyone had any hands on experience with it, had any major problems with the spec for the price or could suggest an alternative?

Also does anyone know how the US/Europe naming convention work with the vaios? They have the same batch names (Sony vaio S series A series, etc) but the rest seems to differ. For example in Europe the S4xp is called something like S480 in the US. Does anyone have a definitive list of name comparisons?

Sorry, no hands on experience - I was going to get an S3 a few months ago but could not justify the crazy cost for the spec you get. Still, gorgeous looking system - I remember drooling over one in the Sony Center in St. Stephen's Green.

As for comparisons between US and European ones, I don't think they are truly possible and I found this with the S3 as well. Look at the US ones:

They don't match spec for spec - however, if you have a way of getting one from the US easily enough, you'd save a ton - Sony really screws over Europeans in their pricing...
