My employer is going to be sending me to work in one of their offices up north for about six months in the near future. Is there anything I need to do beforehand?
I've no experience of working anywhere outside the republic before.
Can I drive my car around the north for 6 months on my RoI tax and insurance? Will I have to pay tax in the north, given that I will still be working for my RoI based employer (albeit for a UK subsidiary)? (i.e. do i just continue paying my irish PAYE?)

What areas of belfast I should avoid when looking for accommodation? :)

Will you be getting paid by the Irish company, or the UK subsiduary? If it;s the UK one, you'll probably have to get a UK National Insurance number, but your employers HR people will tell you where to go/what to bring etc when you get there.
