he has to be the worst actor i have ever seen , that xxx movie what a load of crap, a friend of mine told me it was brilliant he is about 25 , i only found out he is into the spy kid movies , get a life

Vin Diesel is credited with the phrase "revenge is a dish best served cold" when he physically manifested the idea of revenge into a dinner plate, froze it, and then beat his enemy to death with it.

Vin Diesel rocks, despite making perfectly average and/or bad films.

Odd fact he is credited as one of the writes in saving private Ryan as well as havin directed some scenes... Speilberg was supposed to be a fan of some of his moves he wrote and directed before becoming known in Pitch Black and the slow and the silly

Very OT here, but you reminded me of something. Kevin Spacey was a fan of Colin Farrells acting so gave him a few jobs. They were also sleeping with each other (colleagues sister witnessed them snogging at least.)

Is Speilberg gay? It's completely reasonable Vin Diesel is as well, considering *i'm vastly stereotyping here* both work in the acting/singing industry.

Vin Diesel was the hunter who shot Bambi's Mother. He then wore her carcass like it was a coat while he made his rounds at the local children's hospital.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 834 ✭✭✭dearg_doom

Vin diesel probably is, he does seem to overcompensate a bit:)

I reckon he is an OK-to-crap actor, nothing more.

re: Hitman movie: (funny how none of ye have been posting about it:))it's gonna be interesting to see how they mess up the storyline to make it more screen friendly.

The hitmen are supposed to be genetically engineered supersoldier type guys which I guess is how the game explains how he simply kills without remorse, but I'd love to see that (crappy) story changed for something along the lines of the hitman John Cusak played in GrossePointBlank or maybe even have him like LEON, ie just have him as a really good hired gun.

I can't wait to see what his funny-guy-with-a-heart sidekick will be like... it'll probably ruin the movie.

He is a decent actor imo. For proof watch Iron Giant. He just looks like a thug so gets typecast. As a thug he has to play over the top (pitch black) or else he just sounds camp (XXX).

This is terrible, terrible, awful news. I love the Hitman games, and I'll even say that Vin Diesel is "OK", but the two should not be together. Agent 47 is much older than Vin, and has a different physique. Why the **** did they get Vin to play him? Because hes bald? There have to be dozens of actors who would look more like 47 if they shaved their head. Jason Statham would of been a much better choice for the part, or even Patrick Stewart. ****, even Phil Mitchell would of been a better choice than Vin. And Stone Cold Steve Austin would be perfect.

Jason Stratham is an even worse actor than Vin Diesel. Patrick Stewart is way too old.

    Good work, lol

Little girls are made from sugar and spice, and everything nice. Vin Diesel is made from the atomic element Boron.

    Vin Diesel is hope itself!

Vin Diesel regularly visits Africa, to have his penis cut off; since it grows with every glass of water he drinks.

I Suppose he would be good as hitman but hopefully they won't give him much dialog.

Btw, is this the new trend that film makers are following seeing there is plans to make a halo film aswell. Must be running out of comics i suppose.

Vin Diesel is a decent enough actor. He was good in the Iron Giant and also quite decent in Boiler Room. Its just lately he has taken the blockbuster path and become typecast.

rumour has it he can also breakdance.....me fears a Saturday Night fever update remake

    the horror

His "acting" in that film consisted of saying things like "rock" in a deep voice. Not exactly a massive stretch of his acting muscles.

Even if the two actors can only really play themeselves, Vin Diesel is just not right for the role. Jason Statham is a lot more bearable on the screen than Vin Dieself. And I'd rather have an actor who is too old than an actor who is too young.

There are loads of actors who would do a much better job than Vin Diesel. Christian Bale for example, even though he'd never ever take this role, would make a perfect 47.

Don't kid yourselfs, we all know the type of film Vin will turn this into and how he'll portray the character.

I still don't think Jason Stratham would be any good in this. I saw The Transporter. It nearly made me sick it was so bad. And his accent in that? Someone please enlighten as to where he was supposed to be from in that.

I just really don't like Jason Stratham. He can only play "cockney tough bloke" well, and 47 is no cockney blokey.

Why? Do you feel a bit insecure and emotional at the thought that their is way more to life than the interweb:p

Have to agree about Stratham, the guy couldn't act like a parplegiac if you severed the man's spinal chord.

But Diesel just looks completely wrong for Agent47, he is tanned, stocky and cocky, A47 is lanky, and almost albino; although if Diesel did a bit of 'training' like Bale did for the machinist I'd be well impressed:)

Wtf? Is this a bad joke or some stupid dig?

Don't take everything people say literally... I'm going to presume it's a joke that didn't work ;)

Vin could wear make up to look more white, but he doesn't have the right look, I agree. But still better than the other suggestions so far. It would be better if someone like the Dane that did the original voice could play him, but Hollywood wouldn't like that.

Slam Guard: You'll kill us... with a soup cup?
    Richard B. Riddick: Tea, actually.
    Slam Guard: What's that?
Richard B. Riddick: I'll kill you with my teacup.

The Chronicles of Riddick has some great quotes..

HaHA, don't get all defensive, 'twas a joke in the same patronising/sarky vein as your dig:p

Funny you say that about getting your man who voiced him though, I was just saying that last night! Although I haven't seen him before I do know that, in general, Danes are pretty tall. That'd be cool, it'd piss those yanks right off!!

I just thought, this being an Eidos game, and since they're in a bit of dire straits at the mo', I think they should do a TombRaider+Hitman film-o-cheese-em-up \o/

Vin has actually slimmed down considerably and is no longer the man he was ( though even then he was hardly massive folks, come on ).

As for his acting ability, he was decent enough in Saving Private Ryan ( sweet death scene whatever way you want to look at it ) and Boiler Room. Pitch Black is a decent movie for what it was, and you can't blame him for playing an OTT character OTT.

Hmmm. I don't know why but when I thinking of who else would suit 47 I came up with Edward Norton from American History X, minus the goatee. :D

Anyway, Vin isn't all that bad to be honest. He was in some dreadful films but most of these didn't exactly flex what ability he had anyway - examples being the brutal XXX and The Pacifier. He was okay in A Man Apart and very decent in Saving Private Ryan.

I think Diesel can be good if given he right material.
I saw the trailer the other day for his new flick 'Find Me Guilty', i have to say, it actually looks quite good. Its on Apple Trailers if anyone wants to check it out

... not Christopher Walken then?? :(

Haha, that would be the best film ever though, even though he may be a bit too old for it.
