    Hello,

I'm am trying to find a substance that is mouldable when boiled in water but hardens when cooled down to room temperature? A plastic or type of rubber would be ideal, has anyone got a suggestion? I need it for modding pc parts.

This is gonna sound silly but here goes. You need the type of plastic they use in gum-shields.Serious though, dunno who ever here has used one but the plastic is great soft as butter in hot water and cool it is hard enough. Some sort of thermoplastic, so it can be reheated and reshaped. Whats it for though?

Thats a very interesting idea, its for a concept design im currently trying to put together only in the early stages yet but a big part of it would revolve on this substance. I'll give u a cut when i make loads of money from it :P.

You may find the stuff you are looking for in Medical Supply stores of all places. The type of material you are looking for is used as Nukem said in gumshields, but it is also used in occupational therapy, to mould orthotics to help stroke or injury victims.
An example application for the material on the right side of this page
and this page has links with actual product names for such materials as supplied to/by medical stores here in Ireland. There is contact information though I am unsure as to whether they will supply to the public or not.

PVC - the stuff of white plastic pipes bends fairly easy with boiling water, and you can pick up the pipes in B&Q and other DIY places. Don't let a flame get near it the fumes when it burns are Toxic.
