    mods, feel free to move.

a friend of mine will be moving up to belfast later in the year (from dublin). was wondering what the practicalities are? I may be stupid on this, but do she need any work permits or anything (she'll be looking for a job)? is there any paperwork involved or can she just move up and start working straight away?

    any help/advice appreciated, cheers!

No work permit needed, and she can move freely. She will need to obtain a National Insurance number when she gets there - the HR department of her employer will be able to tell her where to contact etc
