Dance Nation 1995

Dance Nation was on this summer ten years ago? Did anyone here go? I am writing a piece for the Herald on the change in attitudes towards dance music since then and how the event changed the scene in Ireland (more Uk promoters came over after seeing thousands of clubbers attending a local line-up, something that wasnt happening in London at the time).

Anyone remember it? Any thoughts on the tabloid hysteria that followed?

That was the first real 'rave' that I went to and it completely changed my perception of the dance scene. After the event, I became completely engrossed in clubbing/dance music and everything attached to it and even to this day I rate it as one of the best nights I've ever had.

I don't remember any of the tabloid hysteria though, but I do remember hearing a story about a girl jumping off the top balcony but that was probably just someome telling porkies.

I was there and i know someone who knew her and it was not porkies she did indeed jump off the balcony hurting herself but not seriously thankfully..it was a good nite by all accounts but ive been at loads of better raves,Fun City in the Point in 1990 was one of my first ever big events and that was amazing,i was lonmg engrossed in the whole Rave scene before Dance Nation came about,for someone who has been going since 1990 im still here to tell a tale or 100,fcuk me i should write a book about my experiences raving...........

Im looking for the complete line up and a recording if possible for this gig back in 1995, I can only remember,Liquid wheel, 4th dimension, Sound croud, mr spring...Im blank on the rest..Any help????

Was there meself.Did'nt 4 Rhythm play aswell.Warren K defo played upstairs and possibly Liam Dollard.
