You can add an Irish bank account in paypal, and withdraw funds to that account.

at theminute i have a free account. Do i have to upgrade to a premier account to do this? How much do paypal charge for this?
I may be selling as much as £1000GBP there. How much will they take off me for that?

No, nothing, and I haven't a clue, in that order. :)

Under your profile you should be able to register a bank account.

Don't paypal take a cut of the transaction? A small percentage?

If you're selling and want to be able to accept funds from a credit card then you need to have a premier or business account. Otherwise you cannot accept credit card funded payments. There's no charge for the account upgrade but paypal do take a percentage (maybe 5% I think) of the item cost. They do not take a percentage of the postage costs though. Also, don't ebay take a percentage of your sale too?

You can register a bank account in your profile to withdraw funds to.

Is all a money making scam.
Everybody takes a cut so by the time you end up with your cash, it's a lot less then you thought you were getting.
At least they have started ebay.ie so the exchange rate issue should be gone for Irish buyers/sellers.

I registered the bank account alright no hassle but it doesnt say how much of a cut paypal take. If its 5% the fvck that. That could be as much as e100. No way.

Any other ways of doing this? Will i have to go down the bank draft / cheque route? That could be dodgy waiting for money to clear. Any other ideas?

FeesPayPal charges Premier and Business accounts to receive payments. Personal accounts are free, but may not receive debit or credit card payments.

    Personal Account Premier/Business Account

    Send Money Free Free
Withdraw Funds Free for €100.00 EUR or more, €1.00 EUR for €99.99 EUR or less to bank accounts in Ireland
Fees for other banks Free for €100.00 EUR or more, €1.00 EUR for €99.99 EUR or less to bank accounts in Ireland
    Add Funds Free Free
    Receive Funds Free 1.9% + €0.35 EUR to 3.4% + €0.35 EUR

Multiple Currency Transactions Exchange rate includes a 2.5% fee* Exchange rate includes a 2.5% fee*

This i got from paypal help page. It seems if i have a personal account then its free to receive money and its also free to then tx that money to my AIB account as long as i transfer more than 99euro. Is this correct? Can someone confirm this? I dont wanna get screwd here.
    Thank you

stupid thing lost its formatting but i think you can get the jist of what it says. Anything in bold refers to charges for a personal account of the corresponding thing in italics.

Moneybookers are pretty good in my experience..
Between ebay and paypal (which are the same company) the charges are excessive..
Ebay charge to list the item
Ebay take a cut of the selling price
    Paypal charge to receive payment.

Expect 5+% of charges.. a rip off IMO
It seems if i have a personal account then its free to receive money

It's free to receive money with a personal account,
BUT you cannot receive credit card payments with a personal account.
Hence you can't receive most payments...

I seem to remember always getting a www.ebay.ie page before, it had very little action on it. Or was I dreaming?

well looking at it, its a 3.25% charge which is 32.50gbp over 1000. and i could maybe charge 5gbp for each item postage which could recoup some of that.
Plus id not get anywhere near the same price in ireland so i might go for it. whoever owns ebay must be loaded!!

There was an ebay.ie site before, then it went for about a month and ebay have now 'just launched' ebay.ie

    The listing fee varies.
A listing with gallery pic starting a 99p will cost apx 65p
Starting an auction at a higher price means higher fee.
Liksewise the higher the selling price the higher the selling fees.
I listed something recently which went for 39ukp.
The total fees (ebay/paypal) were nearly 2ukp.
For selling something expensive I'd advise to promote payment by cheque/moneybookers/draft/bank transfer
and/or state 'please add 3.5% for paypal fees' as many
    sellers do..

BTW: If you are new to ebay and have low feedback you will probably not get a decent price for your item.

Remember you do not pay a % on your shipping costs. Many items are listed as 99cent buy it now, with $50 postage. That way your item appears first on a list of items sorted by lowest price first, and you only pay the % on 99cent

Thats actually a very good idea!

All of ebay's policies are designed to make more money for them (inc paypal)
If a seller charges for accepting a paypal payment they are not protected under the 'paypal seller protection' program.
Ebay are abusing a monopoly IMO.
They have very little running costs/overheads, but they charge excessive amount simply because they can.
And they keep on incraesing the costs because people can't go anyhere else that's anyway popular.
    arrrggghhh

    not that dodgy.
What about asking people to make an electronic bank transfer directly to your account?

Within the eurozone it should only cost them 51c once they have your IBAN and the payment is less than €12,500. Payments normally take 2/3 days.

If they're UK based then ask for a Euro bank draft drawn on an Irish bank. Or if the amount is small take a sterling cheque off them (make sure you allow for exchange rates)
