mandrake 10.1 linux issue

    installed it as a dual boot system on my laptop. with xp pro. installed grand but it starts to bootup and gets to this point

    PCI: Probing PCI hardware (bus 00)

    and stops dead. nothing happens. anyone got any ideas?

    try booting with the command "boot nolapic noapic", should turn off any advanced features and could start the machine

    No it should actually be "boot nolapic noapic" thats after you've turned it off in your bios, i had the same problem with mandrake 10.1, and with mandrake 10 i had the problem of now default mouse being selected. not to worry, still used the distro till the rename, now is just sounds sad...
