the third Trinity pub - Pav, Buttery, and now Rome!

    Girlfriend in rome and yesterday visited the Trinity College Dublin Bar in Rome. Its one of the most popular Irish pubs in Rome and is a pub decked out entirely with pictures of Trinity - weird!

    Just had a look at the pub's website (http://www.trinity-rome.com/who/who.htm). It's a fairly crappy website, but it says at that bottom of the link that the content of the website (and presumably, therefore, the name) is copyright of Trinity College! Is this pub owned by Trinity? Hardly?! Then, could this pub have registered the right to use the name "Trinity College" in Italy and clearly trade off the Trinity College Dublin image? :confused:

    We should sit in there and be raucous just as in the college bars and drink bavaria we snuck in from the off license.....

    don't try presenting your student card and asking for a discount.... the guys who work there are all jerks. it's a nice place to go for a quiet drink mid-afternoon, but it's always packed in the evenings. seems to attract a v. poseur-ish crowd. worth checking out, tho. it's full of trinity memorabilia. they even have a sign that says "arts block" - sadly no photo tho.

    best irish pubs in rome are the druid's den and the shamrock, fyi. also have the cheapest pints.

    Hmmmm, nobody knacker drinkin outside the front door with imported centra cans or shouting at hippy capoeira ponces. It is but trinity in name. *hawwwwwck... pthoo*
