Anyone in clones yesterday I taught Donegal looked excellent just need to finish off our chances and we should have a long summer
Dont know about winning next week it more depends on what Armagh team shows up. Gallagher was class in midfeild Diver, Lacey, Rooper and Colm McFadden top men.
If we can get a consitant free taker and not the three front men switching we are in with a shout of the Ulster title.

What are the opinions of the rest of the country now seeing that another uslter team has the beating of the Armagh in the physical battle.
I know its not about muscle men and hard hitting but look at Mayo in the league final never had a look in.
A different team that played in the Ulster final last year...

I'm inclined to think Donegal missed their chance to take Armagh yesterday but they are a pretty good team and could still get the better of them in the replay. Also while Armagh are a physical team, people tend to overlook the fact that they can play a bit too. I'd rate as second only to Kerry in the country for the last few years, but they have a tendency to lose games that they should not lose on occassion.

We will see a different Armagh next weekend. I'd expect them to win out. Yesterday was their bad game and a good wake up call for them.

Armagh should be capable of an improved performance. One notable issue is that while Donegal have a free-taker, Armagh have fallen back in this respect.

I thought Oisin McConville was Armagh's free taker and he's usually quite good?

I missed the match yesterday sadly, gonna try get a copy off someone.

A comfortable win for Armagh, in a tough game. 4 red cards, 3 for Donegal. Maybe be a bit harsh. Anyway it is armagh v Derry in the Ulster Semi-Final and Donegal v Wicklow in the qualifiers.

poor francie didnt deserve it today. but teh red was for every other match he has ever played in. Dirtiest player in teh worLD.

Was a pity the game degenerated into such a mess but then that was the referee's fault. From the looks of things, he would of had difficulty controlling a Cumann na mBunscoil game.

As for Francie, he's a dirty player, but I'd find it hard to say he's the dirtiest. That said, he does have a tendency to wind up other players with off the ball tackles and then dive on the ground the minute they eventually touch him.

I initially thought Deegan had done a muck_savage job of refereeing the game but what exactly did he do wrong?

I did think Donegal's corner back was send off for a second yellow when he shouldn't.

Other than that, the game was a typical Ulster game. Way too much off the ball hitting and lads deserved to walk.

I thought Donegal played well but couldn't feckin' score :( Otherwise they'd be in a Ulster_Final. There goes my pool anyway!
Oh, and they could't defend either :)

Is it time ulster football started using Ulster refs for championship games? Deegan is from Leinster but he did loose it somewhat.

Donegal have made it tough for themselves now anyway. They're going to be missing a few of their best players for the qualifier against Wicklow who are a very good up and coming team. Could be another shock like Carlow.

Bellew couldn't be the dirtiest player ever. He doesn't play for Meath.

I hope I am presuming right by saying you are a Dublin GAA fan. If so, I find it laughable that you have a go at Meath for being a 'dirty' team. I don't ever recall Meath having three players sent off in an All-Ireland. I don't ever recall a Meath man kicking another player in the head. You seem to have a short memory.

Yes Meath were very physical, sometimes too physical but I certainly wouldn't rate them as dirty. At least not like the Dubs of the 70's who used every dirty blow in the book to try and intimidate their opponents.

    BTW, I'm not a Meathman.

Well Hawker I am a Dub and I disagree with you. You are taking isolated incidents from Dublin football. The Meath team that had O Rourke Lyons, Stafford and co were unarguably a dirty team. They were talented and skillful also but there were some dirty players on that team.

Colm Coyle, Kevin Foley and Liam Harnan are the three dirtiest players I ever saw. Mick Lyons and Gerry McEntee close behind, though at least those two could actually play football!
