    howdy all,

we've got a really good piano just sitting in the house gathering dust for the past few years so i've decided to try and put it to use over the summer..

i'd be interested in playing popular pop music like Coldplay etc (that classical stuff just turns me off), and i'm wondering if it's possible to be able to play that kinda stuff within a couple of months?

also, could ye recommend any good books/websites that would be of use, to learn basic songs, chords and scales etc to get me started?

If you just want to learn the piano, like to play party pieces then yeah u can learn that no problem.

After 2 days of having my keyboard, I was able to play Fur Elise both right hand and left hand, flawlessly.

Do you mean that you actually want to learn to play the piano or just to play random songs?

Do you already play an instrument? If you play something like guitar already, you just need to learn where the notes are and the various techniques. But even if you dont, either way, playing stuff like coldplay should be piss easy.
