    Monaghan v London

    Tipperary v Westmeath

    Down v Fermanagh

    Louth v Waterford

    Offaly v Carlow

    Antrim v Meath

    Wicklow v Armagh/Donegal

    Sligo v Longford

Very little to get excited about there, with most of the big guns set apart. It could make it more interesting for the second round of course. Down v Fermanagh seems to be the pick of the bunch.

Sligo/Longford could be interesting. Should be a close game.

One surprise, with Carlow beating Offaly by a point: 0-14 1-10.

The other matches going more or less to expected form, though some are still ongoing.

Did Offaly have their usual 20 + wides in this game? Carlow probably should not have been that much of a surprise after giving Wexford a good game in the last round.

Apparently, we (Westmeath) were crap but some of the Tipp 'tactics' left a lot to be desired. Conway got his ankle broken in his first game back, after someone jumped on it. Dessie Dolan was also stretchered off after another attempt to do him in and if that wasn't enough others were apparently unlucky not to be badly injured like Conway as Tipp kept trying to injure people!

With the 'tactics' some teams seem to be using these days and the gutlessness of the GAA to do anything about it, you've got to wonder about the future of the game.
