as the title suggests any predictions?
obviously i kno were not meant 2 predict and should learn everythin but i really need to narrow course down!!!
What would be the best thing for moi to study considering i didnt study all year and got C in [a very hard] mock?
After disastrous home ec i really need to do super well!!

o and i know all experiments really well so i should be okay for section B its section A and C really

ok thanks y'all... best of luck!!

I don't think anything at all came up on enzymes last year, so make sure you know all that stuff. Ecology is also quite important, as is respiration. The way the paper goes is like such:
    Section A - 6 questions, two from each of units 1, 2 and 3
Section B - Three experiements, but you say you know them pretty well
    Section C - 6 questions, 1 from unit 1, 2 from unit 2, 3 from unit 3

Now it seems a bit easier to work out the paper - the unit one question in section C is pretty much guaranteed to be either Ecology or Food, for example. Out of the 3 Unit 3 questions in section C, there will be at least one animal question and one plant question, if you know what I mean.

I know there's no real predictions in this post, but it should help you chart out your desperate cramming, if that's what you're doing!

my bio teacher says Enzymes are a hot topic for this year.
I would agree that its hard to predict. I love biology so i just learned everything. I got 93% on what was an extremely hard mock. Perhaps it was same mock, we are in kildare but ours come from the Dublin EB.

you could be an Industrial Microbiologist. Its a cleverly crafted term that screams Enzymology.

I love Enzymes too, both mobile and immobile. Mmmmmm Catalysis.

well Q1 has to be ecology or food as they're the only big topics in unit one!! genetics is an obvious one!! and respiration.....photosynthesis came up last year

    the heart
    food tests
    the nephron

make sure you get a look at the ordinary level paper format
it brings a tear to my eye to lose another person to ordinary level.
    best of luck though.

sorry this isn't a prediction, althoug now that I'm here, maybe that hormone stuff in sexual reproduction, protein syntheseis and the extracting Dna exprt? Anywho, anyone know the function of the ganglion??

to hold the sensory and motor neurons?

    :)

I think any more than that is "beyond the scope of this course"

please dont let human rep come up, we are the most confusing people ever!
i hope dna fingerprinting comes up and plant rep.
i hope the bones prediction is right cos i love the bones chap.
other than that im basically dead for tomorrow

Thanks! Hopefully neurons won't come up, that whole chapter goes right over my head! Is respiration more or less a dead cert given that photosynthesis came up last year?

Don't know if this has been posted already or not but some defence system stuff is new so give that a once over before tomorrow.....

Whatever you do know ALL THE NEW TOPICS on the course. Sweet fook all came up on the paper last year, the first of the new course. The examiner who set the paper was apparently raped, humiliated and then crucified to a tree somewhere in Leitrim for what he put on, hence the high possibility the new course will dominate this year. Thats a logical explanation there. So if the examiner setting the paper this year dislikes any of the above he most definately will do his best to save his ass!

    Hot expts - IAA
    DNA extraction
    The Use of immobilised enzymes

    BEST OF LUCK ;)

Our teacher said to know the following really well, don't know if they'll come up but hopefully they will.
    - Male reproductive system
    - THe heart, blood and immune system
    - Vegetative progation
    - the eye
    - Enzymes
    - DNA and evolution
