Ya know the ones, the current is flowing in them and when you touch them the current flows towards you, of course ya know them, everone does!

Anyway, mine just fell off my desk and smashed into many pieces... not too bothered about that, but I am fascinated to discover what would happen if i plugged it in... anybody any idea if I'm about to go to my firey burny death?? :eek:

I did it, you should try it. i wouldnt risk moving your hand close to the orb though, it still has some crazy high voltage

Nothing! Except i brought a facetester up to it and it started lighting from relatively far away, about 6 inches, so be v v careful.

You must mean a phase tester, its a screw driver, TBH id say the OP will get a fair bit of a shock from it, he might as well put his finger an a live cable, then again the device may have some sort of safety not to allow a certain amout of overvoltage.
But then there are some sort of pleasure instruments in the porn market that may do the same affect as static build up an then it releases to the skin.

We will see though.
