OS Cd's and cd keys?

Howdy ho, I've sent my laptop off for repairs. They are going to restore it to factory settings which means the OS won't be what I use (XP Home). I've a legitimate Win XP Pro licence but no CD. Does anyone know if CD's are linked to specific cd's ? I can get a MSDN XP Pro CD but will want to use a MSDAA (Academic licence)…

There are a few versions of Xp

Mainly Corp Pro Home and Oem.
And some from the technet and MSDN releases(yours in there).

You can ring Msft and they will get you a new Cd assuming your cd key is legit.
