A cautionary tale about the PMPA.

A bloke who works with me rang the PMPA this morning to get a quote for insurance. He has been driving for fifteen years and has never had a crash or claim on the insurance. He is also diabetic and keeps it under control with insulin no problem.

When he mentioned this he was informed that PMPA would not quote because /quote 'they already had their quota of invalids for this year' /unquote.

So anyone who has anything even slightly wrong with them had better steer clear of the PMPA, or if that is the general attitude prevailing, everyone should.

I did a little checking around recently, and nowhere on earth is prepared to insure an 18-year-old with a crash on his record already... The baztards. I'm stuck with Dublin Bus for a while yet...

When I got named on Mammy's inn-sewer-ants, she switched from PMPA to The one an Post are doing. She'd been with PMPA for 10 years and they wanted to charge £1000 (on top of her £300 full-comp, no claims and all the frills) do have me down as a named driver. The an Post crowd did the lot for £600.
    Go figure PMPA...

Maybe yer mate's better off without them Cas.

BTW - I think that kind of statement about invalids blows goats.

    All the best,

Yeah, I hope this is allowed, but I'm going to use this post as a basis of a new thread.

Does anyone really remember the 90's, things were so much different back then! a simpler time,

It really puts things in perspective, how much technology has advanced since then. Remember the "old" internet, haha :D

    Anyone miss ye old' times?

    As regards technology?

    Nope.

I remember when I was computer illiterate and did a course that included a module on computers. I was a little apprehensive and remember a girl helpin me set up an e-mail address (thanks Dee).

Now I don't know what I'd do without the interweb and me computer-machine.
