Make us a banner, eh?

IrelandOffline need a banner ad. Simple.

You can incorporate:

1. Our logo - as seen on the web site... (in fact we'd prefer that all banners carry the logo, naturally).
2. Any other graphics you see on our web site
3. Any non-copyright graphics from the web (your own creations preferably)

I'd just ask that if you're going to mention a web address on the banner, make sure you not put any other web address on the banner besides www.irelandoffline.com (naturally)...

No prizes... well- once we have a page on the site with the banners on it, you'll be credited there of course.

Half-size banners: 234 x 60 pixels
Buttons: 88 x 31 pixels (like the Netscape Now button)

I've laid PSP to rest and delegated design, so these are just suggestions that I think would be nice. These are more general, but with an eye on a logo since I like logos, particularly clever and humourous ones. A good name is handy, and we have one of those, but a good logo can really help with marketing too. If someone can come up with something clever, maybe Bard can incorporate it into the site.

Some kind of plug out of a socket. A phone plug out of its socket maybe?

Something signifying slowness. A tortoise springs to mind, but that's not right. Maybe a crawling download dialog. Although if you made the tortoise kind of cutesy but mischevious, it might work.

That's all for now, I'll think about it more this evening.

That would be fine, ando - and very good of you. It would be best if, when you give it to us, that you give us the .fla file and not the .swf file - allowing us to edit it if necessary.

John- I don't recall who pointed it out- perhaps it was pointed out more as a 'useful thing to have' than as an 'effective marketing tool'... most of know how low the clickthru rate on those blasted things are...

Might I just suggest that you slow down the animated one a bit? At that speed it's a little difficult to read.

That's the best one so far, you can't download it though, so you'll have to zip it.

It didn't. Our site was always hosted there.

This URL has become more apparent/obvious recently though because a script was put in to stop people framing our site within their frames.

I'd ask people to bookmark or link to it using www.irelandoffline.com as the hosting situation may (but probably won't) change (i.e.: it may not remain at the scaryeire.com URL but regardless, will always be available via irelandoffline.com).

I haven't been using a particular font for it. The person who designed the logo for us originally would know better of course. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly who that was.
