Lol. I'd laugh if it was actually produced in an entirely different, poor country.

    Wouldnt be surprised. :)

"Brewed" is really too generous a word.

"Excreted" I believe is the popular term.

They make a beer called Dutch Gold in Breda, but I'm sure if it's the same fine liquor as championed by the fun-loving streetfolk of Dublin Town. That might be brwed in some third-world country, like Scotland.

It looks like this trip of ours could be more of an ordeal then first expected I did a google on Zuidhollandse Bierbrouwerij but to little success, I dont speak crazy hollandish language., Thanks for the info though hefty langer

Well thanks for all the reply's and keep them coming.

I've done some extensive research but still no luck, one would think armed with a computer and a can of holland's finest in your hand you could do anything, but this does not seem to be the case.

My quest must continue as my journey starts in two weeks, but for the time being I'll continue to find happiness and contentment in the end of a golden can.

AFAIK, its made in some industrial estate in a place called BREDA - do not expect factory tours or anything like that. Its not exactly of product of great prestige or heritage. Its probably called Dutch Gold to dedifferentiate itself from Heiniken. I doubt if its even sold in Holland. Its like you go into a supermarkets
in europe and find they have "killians" beer or the like, and on the label "the beer of ireland"....um no.

    Dutch Gold or Royal Dutch?

    I prefer Dutch Gold

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,914 ✭✭✭Alkers

Royal Dutch is horrible. You only ever see homeless people drinking it! I actually like the taste of Dutch Gold. Anything would taste nice after 5 years drinking it in a bush I suppose. ;)

Dutch Gold, Tuborg and Bavaria are all fine with me, thou bavaria is my favourite of those 3. Royal dutch, royal danish, and a few others are, imo, unpotable.

i do think it's laughable that all the guys saying dg is p1ss probably think heinken and budweiser are really good classy beers. little do you know...

so classy beer drinkers what's the a classy beer?

coors? miller? rolling rock? beer is for continentals anyway.

Nobody on this thread has once said such a thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,461 ✭✭✭DrIndy

I like tuborg, dutch gold is undrinkable to me. Bavaria can be tolerated....
