I havent got a clue about art when it comes to computers, particularly when it comes to careers but my sister is looking to do some sort of course in it so I said I would ask the people in the know. smile.gif

At the moment she is teaching herself Photoshop having only done art with paints etc in the past but she is quite computer literate.

I was hoping that someone here mite know what the story is with courses or where I could find out more than the bullsh!t they tell you in course brochures.

Also what the lucrative fields in this business are?

Appreciate any help that anyone can give.

There is a few places that do NCVA coureses and all you need is to have passed your LC and a portfolio. If ya want I can get the names of these places (too late a night brain no work now) smile.gif

I suppose there is the likes of advertising and marketing, web design, gfx design for the likes of brouchers newspapers etc etc. Many jobs can be gotten as long as you have the qualifications if not then dont bother truste me Ive tried smile.gif

    Hey,

Well the basic thing is she shouldn't do a course in computers.

If she's interested in design then she should go do visual communications in NCAD or some other design orientated course.

The basic thing is that computers are the last step in the design process and a lot (read most) computer/web design courses don't teach people much about design.
