Accomodation on the Island of Venice Italy

    Hi i need to find out any info on accomodation on the Island of Venice, Italy near teh Train station/ bus terminus.

    Anyone stayed there B4 and got any tips/advice? Also how expensive was it?
    Looking for Hotel accomodation 2/3 star

    Was in Venice in December and stayed in the Hotel Cavelletto and Doge orsello (its a best western i think) or something like that. it's right beside st mark's square and very central. Wasn't too expensive when i was there but that was off peak season maybe about 160 each for three nights and that was four star. Venice is very beautiful but is quite expensive. Drink is very dear. it was about e6 for a pint of beer. also there was no nightlife hardly so while it wasn't packed i wouldnt recommend going at that time. mainly restaurants and that.
    trip on gondola is lovely but quite expensive.
