Cop out?

I bought FM 2005 last week in PC world because it was only 30 quid, despite being 55 in HMV the robbing bastards.

Anyway, I wanted to start with a bit of a challenge, while not having a pointless task. So I plucked for Sheff. Wednesday rather than an Irish club or a really brutal English club.

At least with Wednesday i thought, there would be decent money to spend and a reasonable chance of competing.

Now it seems to me, that I might have copped out and took an easy job. Ive made a couple of loan signings and picked up Andy Oakes and Stephen Hughes and Im sitting 3rd in the league after 15.

So my question is, did I cop out and take an easy job? Can anyone suggest a more challenging job that isnt ridiculous i.e. administration/Irish league stuff

I might give a game with Bohs a go once I get the game a bit more into my head. Im still learning some of the features.

Pick a team you know next to nothing about in a foreign league and see how you get on there. It will be more of a challenge that way. Pick some team in Serie B or the second divison in Spain.

thats an interesting idea actually, never would have thought of that. i think if i do that Ill put my nationality down as being from that country though, making it easier to sign some local players and keep the local fans happy.

ill give that a shot for sure. cheers.

    MK Dons, definitely.

After 12 years hard graft I managed to get them to 2nd in the Premiership and the Uefa cup final twice (only won it once tho)

And then they sacked me the next season, cos i came 6th.

And now, six years later, they are barely avoiding relegation to league 2!

    HA HA! JUSTICE!

Napoli in the second division in Italy. They have like an 80,000 seater stadium and have Maradonna's son in the reserves...

Took over norwich. Decided not to sign any players until the summer after the first season to see if i could keep them up with the squad they had. Forces you to concentrate on your tactics really as Norwich (in the game) have a fairly muck squad. Something like that can be fun.

Kept them up btw, and with a couple of free transfer signings am currently riding high in the league in 4th (january) in my second season.

Start the game unemployed, adds authenticity and you can't be too choosey about your first job. Only the small (rubbish) teams are usually willing to risk hiring you, so it can be a challenge.
