    Hi,

has anyone tried to use the eyetoy camera on OS 10.4 or found drivers for it?

It shows up in the system details as 'Logitech EyeToy USB Camera' when I connect it but iChat etc say no camera is connected (probably cos I need drivers??)

I have been able to use it as a webcam in XP (found win drivers on net) and it's fine for what I want it for.

Don't fancy landing out extra just yet for a new webcam, particularly the iSight.

I've tried the logitech site and all I found was

Where can I find drivers for my Sony Eyetoy camera? trnsp.gifQuestion Where can I find drivers for my Sony Eyetoy camera?

trnsp.gifAnswer The Eyetoy camera is made to be used on Playstation II only. The camera is controlled directly from within Playstation II games and does not need any further drivers or software.

There is no additional software for PC or Mac available nor is it planned to release any.

This camera is sold/supported only by SONY.
Google is not finding anything either, even the site where I got the XP driver is gone.

thanks in advance for any help

Find out what the chip is. I assume you've tried just plugging it in, yep?

    from the system profiler:
    Logitech EyeToy USB Camera:

    Version: 1.00
    Bus Power (mA): 500
    Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
    Manufacturer: Sony Corporation
    Product ID: 0x0154
    Vendor ID: 0x054c

unfortunately the label on the base of the camera is faded / worn so cannot get any more info from there

I just plugged in the camera into the usb port.
In iMovie / iChat it tells me theres no camera connected yet in the sound prefs (in sys prefs) the mac is detecting sound from the camera's mic

    Try http://www.ioexperts.com/

They might have working drivers for your camera. The reason the mic works is because it's supported by the generic USB device drivers.
